Under the direct supervision of the director of operations, a home care provider (unskilled) gives direct “hands-on” care to the client by performing unskilled homemaker tasks on a part-time basis. We are celebrating 10 years of our service that extends all the way to Mission and Raymonville.

SERVICES

Bathing

  • Laying out supplies
  • Assisting in/out of tub/shower
  • Sponge bathing and drying
  • Tub bathing and drying
  • Standby assistance for safety

Dressing

  • Dressing client
  • Undressing client
  • Laying out clothes

Exercise

  • Taking client for a walk

Feeding

  • Spoon feeding
  • Assistance with utensils
  • Standby assistance/encouragement
  • Note: Tube feeding cannot be done

Shaving, Oral Care

  • Shaving
  • Brushing teeth
  • Caring for nails
  • Laying out supplies

Routine Hair and Skin Care

  • Washing hair
  • Drying hair
  • Assisting with setting hair
  • Combing-brushing hair
  • Applying nonprescription lotion to skin
  • Washing hands and face
  • Applying makeup
  • Laying out supplies

Toileting

  • Changing diapers
  • Assisting on/off bedpan
  • Assisting with use of urinal
  • Assisting with clothing during toileting
  • Assisting with toilet hygiene; includes use of toilet paper and washing hands

Cleaning

  • Cleaning up
  • Cleaning bathroom
  • Changing bed linens
  • Making beds
  • Cleaning
  • Cleaning refrigerator and stove
  • Carrying out trash

Laundry

  • Doing hand wash
  • Gathering and sorting
  • Using laundromat
  • Hanging clothes to dry
  • Folding and putting away clothes

Meal Preparation

  • Cooking full meals
  • Warming up prepared food
  • Planning meals
  • Helping prepare meals
  • Cutting client’s food for eating
  • Serving food
  • Grinding and pureeing

  • Arranging for transportation
  • Accompanying client
  • Waiting in the doctor’s office

Shopping

  • Preparing shopping list
  • Going to store
  • Picking up medication
  • Putting food away

Assistance with Medication

  • Reminder to take medications
  • Take glass of water
  • Bring medications
  • Open medication bottle

DUTIES DO NOT INCLUDE

  • Window washing or ironing
  • No washing of curtains
  • No services to other family members
